The iris is the birth month stamp for February. It is the symbol of royalty and thought to be the inspiration for the Fleur de Lis motif. Named after the messenger god of Greek mythology the name iris also translates as rainbow, reflecting their wide variety of colours, and the flowers represent wisdom, hope and trust.
This beautiful counted cross stitch is stitched in three strands of embroidery thread on perforated paper. The finished stamp is 61 × 73 stitches and measures approximately 11cm x 13cm.
The kit contains all you need to stitch your stamp: Full colour instructions and charts, 14 count perforated cross stitch paper, Anchor and DMC stranded embroidery thread, John James needle, white backing card.
Once finished the needlework may be cut out using scissors and mounted on a backing or in a frame (not included).
Warning: Contains sharp needles. Adult supervision required.
